Why Watson Law?

Watson Law, LLC is at your service. We offer advice and representation in legal matters concerning employment law and family law. We also provide mediation services to other people in disputes who want to try and settle the whole or part of the dispute by their own agreement and without the court making the decisions for them.

Watson Law, located in Springfield, Illinois, was founded by attorney Charles ("Chuck") Watson, a fourth generation lawyer. He was admitted to the bar in 1983 and practiced law with others for 12 years before opening his own offices in 1995. He is a family and divorce lawyer, employment lawyer, and mediator.

At Watson Law, we limit our practice to the following areas: employment law, including wrongful termination, discrimination, sexual harassment, whistleblowing, and legal assistance for State employees; family law, with a focus on divorce, civil union dissolution, custody, child support, visitation, prenuptial agreements and domestic partnership agreements.

An outgrowth of the employment law practice is Watson Law's investigation service. At the request of truly concerned employers who are facing accusations of improper employment practices, Chuck Watson will conduct an independent investigation of the allegations and report on the results. Using an outside investigator gives the emoloyer an unbiased view of its potential liability and what can be done to solve the problem

Watson Law also provides mediation services. This is an outgrowth of Chuck Watson's belief that settlement of a dispute is almost always preferable to allowing a judge or jury decide it. Other lawyers or individuals involved in disputes may retain Chuck Watson to act as a mediator in their attempts to settle disputes. A specialist in family and employment matters, Chuck Watson is available to mediate other kinds of of disputes as well.
